December 20th: Tis the season for soup!

sundays, especially snowy ones, are made for soup-sipping. if you're brave enough to venture out in this blizzard we're having, try one of these. if you're staying in, try this delish farmhouse butternut squash soup my boo made for me yesterday.

December 19th: SNOW DAY!

December 18th: Make a Christmas Croquembouche

who wouldn't love a little "crunch in the mouth" this holiday season? the beautiful pile of pastry that is the croquembouche is easy on the eyes and, with a dark chocolate-orange custard filling, probably a tid bit tasty too.

December 17th: candy coating

let your branches droop low with sugarplums and candy cones!

Decwmber 16th: holi-date

spice things up mid-week and surprise your boo with a holi-date. i can't believe it's been almost a year since my last winter date! a few great date ideas:

*sip manhattans with your man at manhattan inn

*share a slice of spiced hot chocolate cake

*take a spin on the ice at rock center and then get toasty with a snowplow at the new igloo bar

menorahs don't typically show up in advent calendars, but my home is an interfaith one, complete with a star of david atop the baby xmas tree and menorah lighting to the sounds of the vince guaraldi trio. make your own crafty glass bottle menorah by following these simple steps.

December 14th: snowy escape

take a break from the holiday craze with a woodsy weekend getaway...dunton hot springs will do just fine.
