Am I the last person on earth to learn of banana boats?!?!? Now that I've been enlightened, these sweeties will be making after-dinner appearances at BBQs and camping trips forever more.

in this nyc heat, i'm seeking out cool anywhere i can find it. somehow just looking at these beautiful images of rustic indoor rock walls has a cooling effect. and i imagine this is the type of home that would also be warm and toasty in the winter...i'll take it.

TO DO: Buy The Smithy

Growing up, we spent many many Sundays visiting open houses around Seattle. It was so much fun to imagine living in a different neighborhood and re-envisioning the layout of my home. Now that I live in the big city, it's almost impossible to imagine owning anything, let alone a wide open space with multiple rooms, rolling hills outside your window, a stream running through your backyard, and so.much.space. Thank you Smithy, for letting me daydream for a day.

1/30: plant an herb garden

this has been on my list for a little while...now its too late in the season to plant baby seedlings so i'm off to the nursery for some mint, thyme, rosemary and sage plants. aka pimm's cups, lemon thyme lemonade, rosemary shortbread and crispy sage leaves. mmm mmmm

December 14th: snowy escape

take a break from the holiday craze with a woodsy weekend getaway...dunton hot springs will do just fine.

Update! sadly the Jazz Age Lawn Party on Guv Island has been canceled today due to crummy weather. BUT! it is rescheduled for next Sunday, Oct. 4th. See you babes there!
